The Oh Be Joyful Lodge at the Breckenridge Nordic Center [Venue]

These are probably going to be the worst images you’ll ever see of the Oh Be Joyful Lodge at the Breckenridge Nordic Center, a new event venue available for rental very, very soon. I was actually delivering some birthday flowers from the daughter to one of the owners of the facility before popping my head into the construction zone. The workers moved fast and communicated while I was there snapping these pics with my phone.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the development and availability of this new wedding venue in Breckenridge, Colorado. it’s just up the road from the downtown area, and you fly right over it when you’re in the gondola headed up to Peak 8 to ride.

If you’re in town for a few days and want to take a break from the downhill stuff, head over to the nordic center in Breck, there’s one in Frisco too, and strap on a set of snowshoes or rent cross country skis and explore the mountains from a different perspective.

Please contact us to learn more about planning a wedding in Breckenridge, possibly using this venue, and possibly going snowshoeing or xc skiing. We’ll help steer you towards the best resources for your goals and vendor budgets.

So, hopefully these will be the worst pics you’ll ever see of this place. Once the construction phase is over, the friends and famiies will use this lodge to gather. And it will be good. And the photos? Much better. With people. And love. Thanks for reading, and please share with someone you know that needs to see this place!

The First Look. Kristin + Chris at the Lodge and Spa at Breckenridge

I was on my way out the door when I saw the first look happening, so I decided to get my own version of the scene before leaving.  We helped with the personal flowers; bridal bouquets, corsages and boutonierres, and also did the centerpieces for the reception.  Check out more photos on our blog and on our social feeds.  Please contact us with any questions or specific request.  Thanks!

Q. What’s an important factor that couples don’t want to overlook?

A. Day-of wedding planners really assist with the flow of the wedding.  If you are not going to hire a planner, keep in mind who is going to help the event flow.  You cannot be running the evening.  Who will turn your ceremony music on, who will tell you to start walking down the aisle, who will tell people to move into the reception area from cocktail hour, who will decide when to cut the cake, etc. This is one of the biggest surprises I see people become aware of.  You want your wedding to flow from one part to the other for your guests, but you usually need someone to help in the background.

Fall Color in the Rocky Mountains By Keri Doolittle Photography //

I saw some images from Keri Doolittle, a Denver based photographer who might just have one of the coolest web sites that I’ve seen in a while, that I really wanted to share with our readers.  This Colorado wedding blog is all about the off-the-beaten path kind of events, although we love showing the big and fancy, not everyone does the big and fancy.   So, for a smaller, but yet, elegant approach to a mountain wedding, you should definitely research the private home market.

There are many property management rental companies here in Summit County, and many independent rentals that you have to dig through a mountain of links to find the right one.  If you want us to help you save time and money, then contact us to learn how we can help you find just one vendor, help design the event and source rentals, or core service, wedding flowers and decor.

These images are from a photo retreat that was held at a private home rental just south of Breckenridge, in Blue River.

“Fifteen photographers from throughout the country met up in the beautiful town of Breckenridge, CO.  Hosted by Denver wedding photographer, Keri Doolittle, the ladies came to learn about photography, talk shop and enjoy the surroundings of Breckenridge, CO.  The days were spent photographing some families and newborns and gathering into mini-sessions to learn about marketing, studio management and website/SEO.”

“The photographers were able to spend an afternoon in the town of Breckenridge shopping, enjoying the sunshine, taking a group photo at the Old Time Photo shop and dining at The Breckenridge Brewery.  We even got to indulge in Fatty’s Pizza the following evening.  The rental house in Blue River was a perfect setting to see the fall aspens in bloom!  Everyone had a blast and can’t wait til we do it again in 2012!”
